Trend Watch: All About Sequins

So there's no denying Christmas is just around the corner, with the Christmas lights and markets in most towns now everyone is getting ready for the busiest and most magical season of the year! A current trend this year is sequins, every girl is in need of a sequinned garment in their wardrobe and here is a few I've had my eye on.

All About Sequins

Outfit 1: Topshop Sequin Velvet dress - £68

This is probably my favourite of the outfits as it's design features are just so unique and eye catching. A mixture of the textures is something that really grabbed my attention and the gorgeous shade that has been selected is not the usual christmas red or gold. I think Topshop have done really well with this number putting their own spin on the classic gold or red sequin dress: I also feel that the cut and sleeve length of the dress will flatter many figures and the synched waist will do well in skimming over those added Christmas pounds (in my case I'm hoping anyway!)

Outfit 2: Boohoo Selma Sequin Dress - £43

The next outfit I really love as it's another twist on the 'LBD', I feel the shape will also be flattering - the v neck line and loose shape will do well again in flowing over the hips. For £43 this is a cheaper alternative for a sequin dress as the embellishments on most cause them to be quite pricey.

Outfit 3: New Look Black Sequin Bralet - £25 & Miss Selfridge Shorts £48

The final outfit is an alternative to the sequinned dress yet will look just as classy and Christmassy at a Christmas party. The shorts are my favourite and the beauty about them is that they can be paired with so many different things and colours. The bralet is gorgeous and again could be teamed with other garments such as skater skirts or disco pants. These two however work really well together and paired with some wedges you will be good to go!

So there are some of my favourite sequinned garments that are currently on sale! There are so many styles and shapes out there with sequin decor them it just depends which one suits you! Thanks for reading!

All About ~ Under £5 products

So I haven't done a blog post in ages as I've been so so busy with uni and assignments! I said to myself that this evening I'd have a bit of me time and watch Disney films and write up a couple of blog posts. This post is going to be on my favourite products which you can get for under £5 and are still excellent quality in my opinion. Hope you enjoy and be sure to comment your recommendations!

1. Collection Sheer Loose Powder - £2.99: I'm definitely a powder girl and I've never strayed from this Collection one. Although it can look a little heavy I prefer something with more coverage and for me this does the trick. For the price you cannot really complain and if you're going to be experimenting with loose powders than this one is worth a try.

2. Maybelline Colour Tattoo - £4.99: I'm sure you've heard about these little gems as they've been hyped up just about every where but I couldn't not include them. They're effortless to apply and have such a gorgeous finish. My favourite shades are: Eternal Gold, On and on Bronze and Taupe.

3. Sleek Shimmer Blushes - £4.49: I only have one sleek blush but that one blush proves enough that for the price the quality of these blushes is amazing. I've seen that they have a good colour range and hope to pick up a few more soon. The shade I have is pomegranate and I think it's a gorgeous shade for Autumn/Winter!

4. Collection Killer Curves Mascara - £3.99: £.3.99 is a bit of a steal for a mascara that holds curl and adds enough length and volume for an everyday basic make up look or 'no make up day'. I have the waterproof one and it sticks in the rain or in the pool too! I've tried other Collection mascaras in the past and have always been impressed so they're good value for money.

5. Collection Work the Colour Shadow Pencil - £3.19: These eye shadow sticks are also products which have been talked about over the past few months. I have the shade Hot Chocolate by collection and it's a gorgeous rich chocolatey brown shade. These are so blend able and can be built up for more opaque colour or blended out for just a wash of colour. If you've not tried one yet then you're missing out so go and some if you can.

6. Collection Ever Lasting Perfection Concealer - £4.19: I don't need to touch on this too much as everyone has probably tried this and really liked it. For the price the coverage is absolutely great and the consistency divine. A product that I will continue to repurchase for sure.

That's it for my favourite under five pound products and I hope that you give some of them a try as I highly recommend all of them! Please comment with your recommendations as I am a student and all about budgeting now! Thankyou for reading!

Monthly Favourites ~ October 2013

So it's time for my monthly favourites again as it's already the 6th day of November and Christmas is just around the corner! I've got assignments due this month and in December so it's going to be crazy busy to fit blogging into the equation too. I am really going to try and keep my posts consistent but I cannot make any promises... Anyway back to the post: so I've not been loving anything really new this month as being a student I simply don't have the money to splurge on the latest beauty bits. However there are definitely some firm favourites here and I recommend pretty much every single one.

I'm going to kick things off with the non make up favourite for me this month and this has to be Caramel Lattes. Whether it's Costa, Starbucks or some chic café I'm not bothered. Nothing makes me more awake than one of these in the morning, especially now that it's getting freezing outside I find myself to be having them daily...
I've been loving my MAC products this month, I've been so attached to my beloved Naked Basics palette I though I'd show some affection to my MAC quad and I've definitely fallen back in love. The four shades I have in my quad are: Soba, Ricepaper, Satin Taupe and Patina. I love these shades as I feel they can all be blended together if I'm going out or if I'm in a hurry I'll just choose one and sweep it over the lid and add some mascara - eye makeup done in seconds. MAC eye shadows are expensive but the quality is divine and I feel they're well worth the money. To blend or apply the shadows I've been using my trusty MAC 217 brush, I have probably mentioned this in a favourites post before but this brush is a staple in my everyday routine and I can't imagine life without it (sad I know.

I've also been wearing my MAC blush in Margin a lot this month, after featuring it in my Autumnal blushes post I was inspired to wear it non stop. It's perfect for adding some warmth to my usual pasty white face and a little goes along way.
My final favourite from the month of October has been my lipstick of choice for the month, Spiced Brandy by Revlon is one of my all time favourites. When I wear this shade I keep the rest of my makeup minimal as this does all the talking. It's a deep wine red colour with the perfect hint of brown, I feel it really compliments and contrasts with my skin tone but creates such a striking look. The consistency is not drying at all and this does not budge for a good few hours.

So there is what I've been loving throughout October. I'm really looking forward to November even if it's going to be dominated by Uni work. I love wrapping up for the cold weather and staying inside reading books when it's all miserable outside. Please let me know what products you've been loving this past month or comment with the link to the post below. Thanks for reading!

All About ~Autumnal Blush

If you read my blog or any of my recent posts you'll know that I love love love Autumn and everything about it. I've already written a post on my favourite Autumn lipsticks and now I'm going to be writing about my favourite blushes to wear during Autumn time.

Above are a mixture of shades that I love wearing during Autumn and I will touch on each of them individually and why I love them so.  There is a mixture of high street and slightly pricier products so there is guaranteed something for everyone!

1. NARS - Luster: This is my first and only NARS blush and it's made me want to venture out into the huge world of NARS blushers as it's just so divine. This shimmery (but not too shimmery) apricot shade is sure to add the right amount of glow to anyones cheeks. I love the way it compliments my skin tone, as I have fair skin this can sometimes be hard to do but this one does it spot on. I know NARS blushes seem expensive but you're definitely paying for a quality product here and I don't have anything similar in my collection.

2. MAC - Margin: Again MAC blushes can seem a little on the pricey side but you're (again) paying for guaranteed quality and paying for what you get. This shade is slightly deeper and a rustier tone to the NARS blush but it's equally as gorgeous. This settles beautifully creating a striking Autumnal hue to the tops of the cheek bones. I tend to opt for this if I'm not wearing much eye make up as it creates a statement for the face and goes well with a similar shade lip.

3. Dainty Doll - Money Talks: If you're on more of a budget than I'd highly recommend a blush from Dainty Doll, I have four shades from the brand and they all impress me. Money Talks is the most suitable shade for Autumn. It's a taupe shade which effortlessly adds an iridescent element to the skin. Ideally this is perfect for fair skin (like with most Dainty Doll products) and beautifully helps to sculpture the face.

4. Sleek - Pomegranate: The brightest of the bunch is a vivid number from Sleek. The name Pomegranate gives this one a way and it's name is true to colour. The key thing to remember when applying this one is that a little definitely goes along way but if applied correctly it's the most gorgeous berry tone which acts as a flush of colour to the cheeks.

5. The Body Shop - 05: This final blush is the most classic of the lot, it's a matt peachy shade which can be worn all year around. However it looks just as gorgeous in the Autumn with a nude or berry lip - it really enhances the minimalist look some people love and is perfect for those days when you want something a bit more neutral.

From top to bottom: The Body Shop 05 / Sleek - Pomegranate / Dainty Doll - Money Talks /
MAC Margin / NARS Luster

So there's my top five blushes for Autumn, there's obviously lots of dupes out there for these shades and a huge selection of blushes on the market. These are just some that I find myself wearing a lot during the Autumn time. Please comment and let me know your go-to Autumn blush and thanks for reading!

All About ~ The Autumn Tag

Autumn is finally here - yes September has been and gone but moving up to London this month from the South West it was still fairly warm! I'm so glad October has begun as the tartan scarves, chunky knit wear and berry lips can really make an appearance. I have seen the Autumn tag floating around a lot so far and as it's my favourite month I've decided to do it also! Hope you enjoy and please leave me links if you've been able to do the tag!

1. What's your favourite thing about Autumn?

For me there are lots of things - Autumn is my absolute favourite season and nothing makes me happier than wrapping up warm, whacking out the taupe shaded blushers, berry lips and making hot chocolate without feeling guilty!

2. Favourite Autumn drink?

I love hot chocolate as much as the next person especially when loaded with lots of whipped cream and mini marshmellows however I'm also a huge fan of caramel lattes too.

3. Favourite scent/candle?

Again there's loads of favourite scents in the Autumn time for me - I love warm scents: spices, almond, honey as well as fresh Autumn air!

4. Best Lipstick?

I did a post of my three favourite Autumn lipsticks here - alongside these I really love the Korres lip butter in Wild Rose.

5. Go to moisturiser?

A recent purchase but one I'm already in love with - the Origins Jinzing moisturiser smells like chocolate oranges and is just the most divine consistency, it really wakes up the skin and keeps it feeling nourished for hours.

6. Go to colours for the eyes?

I'm a neutrals kind of girl all year around but especially in Autumn I love to experiment with coppers, browns and bronzes. Some of my favourite products include the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze and the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I sometimes like to go for more cool toned shades like MAC Satin Taupe.

7. Favourite music/band to listen to?

Alongside my favourites which I listen to all the time I especially love listening to Micheal Buble in the colder months - his voice is so warming and his Christmas album gets me so excited for December!

8. Favourite outfit to wear?

I love combining all of my favourite staples in the Autumn and layering them to create lots of different looks - black skinny jeans, midi skirts, ankle boots, chunky jumpers and a massive coat!

9. Autumn Treat?

Although I have a few Autumn/Winter coats already I'd really love to splurge on a new one - there's something about coats and jackets which I love and I'm after a fur collar to pair with existing coats and jackets!

10. Favourite place to be?

Usually it'd be the same as every year - at home with my family, my sister and me would make hot chocolates, get a duvet and watch soaps. However this year it will be different - moving to London for uni I can't wait to walk up and down Oxford Street or Covent Garden waiting for all of the Christmas lights and displays!

There is my little spin on the Autumn tag! Please link your blogs below if you've done it or something similar and thanks for reading!

All About ~ Maybelline 'Brow Drama'

I've been on the hunt for a decent brow filler for a while now, after lusting over both the Hourglass Brow Sculpting Pencil and the Anistatisia Brow Wiz.  However I am now at university so forking out a fair sum of money just for an eyebrow product was not an option. So I'd been searching Boots and Superdrug for a high street alternative and came across this little number.

At only £4.99 I thought I'd give the Maybelline Brow Drama a go and for under a fiver I thought I couldn't go wrong - turns out this product is impressive! Other than pencils there are not any other eyebrow alternatives about for under £10 let alone £5! I bought the shade medium brunette and it's a perfect match for myself. The rounded brush is excellent for defining the start of the brow and then I usually fill in the thinner part of the brow brow with the shade Faint from the Urban Decay Naked basics palette. The combination makes sure my brows have some more definition and colour yet still ensures they are looking au natruel

Overall I highly recommend this product if you're looking for a cheaper alternative to most of the higher end brow products. I believe this does an amazing job at defining and slightly tinting the brows. Please let me know what are your go to brow products and thanks for reading!

Monthly Favourites ~ September 2013

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Shampoo / Korres Wild Rose Lip Balm / Soap and Glory: The Breakfast Scrub / Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette / Origins Jinzing Moisturiser

It's coming to the end of the month yet again and the year is really starting to fly by. Christmas is almost in two months and I for one cannot wait! Here are my favourites for the month of September (the background has changed as I'm at uni now and will be trying out a few different layouts).

The first product I've been loving this month is something that I feel really has made a difference to my hair. After getting my hair cut short in May I instantly regretted it and have been missing my long locks. Since using this Lee Stafford Hair Growth Shampoo I feel I have seen my hair grow much quicker than it usually does. I use this about twice a week and love the way my hair feels strengthened and nourished after using it.

A lip product that I've constantly been wearing this past month has been the Korres Lip Butter in 'Wild Rose' I love wearing a dark/berry lip when the weather gets much colder and I relly rediscovered my love for this one this month. The colour is a gorgeous deep berry red which lasts for ever without drying and has a nice glossy finish. They are quite expensive but are so worth it and I really need to venture to their other flavours/colours!

Next up is arguably my favourite out of the bunch for the month! I've been eyeing up Soap & Glory - The Breakfast Scrub for months and months now but never ever purchased it. I thought I'd buy myself a few last minute treats before uni because I knew that with student life and budgeting my luxury shower products will be non existent!

The next makeup item is the Naked Basics palette from Urban Decay - I bought this at the beginning of the year and I went along with all of the hype (and still do hype it up) it's made my favourites this month as I've been using the black shade as an eyeliner as a softer alternative from liquid liner and I've also been using the dark brown for my brows and under eye eyeliner. I love how much of a multi purpose product this is and I'm sure I will continue to treasure it as part of my everyday makeup.

Last but not least is another splurge product I'd been lusting after for a good few months. After hearing all of the hype over the Origins Jinzing moisturiser I was intrigued to give it a try and see what all of the fuss is about. I'm pleased to say I love the product with a passion, the scent and consistency is divine and I love the way it really brightens up the skin and feels like your skin is really getting an energy boost.

So there are my favourite products from the month of September! Please let me know the products you've been loving or leave me a link to any monthly favourites posts you have done. Thanks for reading!

All About ~ Autumn/Winter Lipsticks

Rimmel Kate Moss 107 / Revlon Spiced Brandy / MAC Brave

It's been a crazy past week but I'm now hoping to get back to blogging on a regular basis. I've now moved into uni and have been thoroughly enjoying freshers and my orientation week. Lectures start tomorrow but I'm trying to manage my time well so I can blog whenever I can.

Autumn is officially here: the ankle boots are on and the fluffy jumpers are out so this post is going to be the infamous top three lipsticks for Autumn/Winter. First up is Rimmel's Kate Moss lipstick in 107, this is a gorgeous purple toned berry shade which compliments a range of skin tones. This lipstick is so affordable and the colour stays on for hours. The only criticism is that it can be a little bit drying however with a good moisturising lip balm underneath it stays rich and nourished.
The next shade which I always opt for in the chillier months is Revlon's Spiced Brandy. I think this may be discontinued in stores but can still be found online. Revlon is a brilliant brand for lip products and they always seem to have offers on making them even more affordable. I feel this shade really compliments fair skinned girls like myself and I really enjoy wearing it. Again it works best with a good lip balm underneath but it's lasting power is impressive and it's gorgeous rich colour lasts for ages.
Finally I had to include a MAC lipstick in this post: my favourite MAC lipstick for A/W is Brave. It's a gorgeous berry shade which looks gorgeous on the lips paired with winged liner and a shed load of mascara. It is a satin finish and is a pleasure to wear as it looks sophistcated and does not budge for a good few hours.

So there are my top three favourite shades for A/W, there were loads more I could have included but these are the three that really made the cut. Please let me know your favourite lipsticks for the Autumn months and thanks for reading!

All About ~ TRESemmé Split Remedy Hair Mask

A short little review on a gorgeous hair product that I have recently featured in my August favourites! I picked this hair mask up a month or so ago as it was on offer and I've been so impressed with it so felt it deserved some recognition. The product itself smells so divine and using it once a week has really helped the ends of my hair to feel stronger and more nourished. For something that's so affordable which works wonders I feel I will continue to use it for a long long time. There's so much product in the tub and as you use a small amount each time I think it'll last forever! Overall a 10/10 rating for this product and I enjoy using it weekly.

Thanks for reading this short but sweet post but I had to write a mini review as I think this deserves much more hype. Please let me know if you're a fan of hair masks and which are your favourites! Thanks for reading!

All About ~ Pink Products

One colour I always tend to push to the back of my makeup collection is pink. I'm all for wearing winged eyeliner on a daily basis but usually tend to spice things up with a bright lip be it a striking red or a rich coral. So I thought I'd have a dig around my collection and pull out a few pink products that I must wear more. Some days I think it's best just to go natural and rock a pink lip or rosy pink cheeks. Here are a few of my all time favourite pink lip and cheek products.

For pink cheeks I have a couple of 'go to' products. One of these is an infamous Topshop Cream Blush in the shade Afternoon Tea. This is a delightful deep pink shade which dotted onto the apples of the cheeks creates a natural flush - the consistency is divine and the colour lasts a long time. The second  pink blush I occasionally opt for is a gorgeous powder blush by Dainty Doll. The shade My Girl is a subtle pink which looks gorgeous lightly dusted on the tops of the cheek bones. I find this shade really compliments my pale skin and am determined to wear it more often!

Onto lip products - I think I have enough lip balms, sticks, glosses, stains and lacquers to last me a lifetime and I probably don't need 8 of the same colour. My favourite pink beauty balm is by No7 - it's a sheer yet colour glossy balm which looks lovely on it's own or on top of another lipstick. For a bit more of an intense pink colour the Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial is a gorgeous alternative. The colour won't budge for hours on end and is a lovely wearable everyday shade. Another alternative for a long lasting stain is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey. These were raved about not too long ago and it seems every brand and their mother has brought out their own range - the Clinque Chubby Sticks were the first to set the trend but the Revlon dupes are gorgeous too for a fraction of the price. Finally is quite possibly my favourite of the bunch - the MAC lipstick in Hue is perfect for those days when you want to keep makeup to a minimum. The consistency is smooth and the colour is so pretty. A side note about MAC lipsticks is that they have the most divine vanilla scent so are definitely worth a swatch!

There are my favourite pink products from my makeup collection - please let me know if you have an recommendations and thanks for reading!

Monthly Favourites ~ August 2013

TRESemme Hair Mask / Bourjois Bronzing Primer / MAC Vegas Volt / Vaseline Moisturiser

So the month of August has come to an end. I'm happy and sad for this month to have finished: happy because it's now September which marks the start of Autumn, Autumn is my favourite months and I can't wait for the tartan scarves and berry lips to come out! I'm sad August has finished as summer is pretty much done with - I've had an amazing Summer with some amazing people visiting beautiful places and generally feeling happy! So the end of a month can only mean a monthly favourites post - I've not used many new products this month as I found some lovely products in June and July which I've kept on using but here are a few things I feel deserve a mention.

The first product I've been loving throughout August is the TRESemme Split Remedy hair mask. One of the first things that drew me to picking this up was the products promise to help with Split ends. I knew it probably wouldn't work after one use (it says three on the tub) but after a few times using this I noticed my split ends looking mended and much healthier. Instead on the ends of my hair being brittle and dry they were starting to look nourished and healthy. Something else that must be noted about this product is the smell - it is absolutely divine. It smells very fresh and I can only recommend you going to have a little smell yourself. Overall I'm so impressed with this hair mask and enjoy using it about once a week.

Next is something I've heard a lot about in the blogging community and was really intrigued by the product. The Bourjois Bronzing Primer received a lot of love throughout June/July not as a 'bronzing primer' but as a cream bronzer and I couldn't wait to hop on the bandwagon. Again I really love the scent of this product and love the way it looks as a cream bronzer. I apply this with the Real Techniques Stippling Brush and delicately stipple the product on my cheekbones. This works really well on my fair skin and adds a little sun-kissed look to my usual pasty white skin. I love this product and feel it would compliment a huge range of skin tones - if you haven't swatched/tried this product yet then definitely do so! As a side note I think this is perfect for the transition from Summer through to Autumn too as it really helps sculpture the face without making it look to muddy or orange.

The next lipstick is one I had been eyeing up for a while during Spring and when I went to Greece in June I caved and picked it up in duty free. MAC Vegas Volt has been on my lips a lot throughout August as it is just the most flattering coral for the warmer months. I featured it in my everyday make up post as I have been loving it and wearing it almost everyday. I think it would look lovely on those lucky enough to catch a tan but also on those who are not so fortunate and stay pale throughout the summer. The finish of this lipstick is gorgeous and the colour pay off is beautiful and really long lasting.

The final monthly favourite for August is the Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Body Butter - this moisturiser is cheap as chips yet does the job perfectly. I love the scent of anything Cocoa or Shea Butter and this ticks all of the boxes. The product sinks into the skin and does not leave any sort of residue or film. I've really been enjoying using this product and it's been a staple in my post shower routine.

So there are my favourites throughout the month of August! Please let me know what you've been loving just recently or leave links to your August favourites post in the comments! Thanks for reading!

All About | Highstreet Foundations

I've tried many 'high street' foundations over the years, spending endless amounts of money on the latest Rimmel, Revlon and Maybelline launches. I've tried some alright ones and some not so alright ones but these are the three that are my top favourites and I would repurchase again and again.

The Revlon Nearly Naked foundation (£8.99) caused much controversy with bloggers when it was first released earlier on in 2013. At first I just did not understand the hype and found it to be too 'cakey' and slightly too dark for me. However since using it in the summer months with a bit of a tan I found this was fine for my skin and gave just the right amount of coverage without feeling too heavy on the warmer days. The only drawback I think that stands out with this foundation is that it does not have a pump so a lot of the product does end up being wasted.

Next up is the L'Oreal True Match foundation (£9.99) which I adore with all my heart. Being a fair skinned gal it's incrediably difficult to find a precise colour match without making me look too dark or orange. This foundation has such a wide colour range and has some really light shades too. The consistency of this foundation is as if it's been created by the gods and I'm so surprised it is not talked about more on blogs and youtube! It is so blendable and the coverage is really buildable, creating such a flawless finish. I will definitely be buying another one of these when this one runs out.

Finally is one that is also popular with bloggers! The Bourjois Healthy Mix serum (£9.99) is one of my all time favourites. I almost shed a tear when I used up the last few pumps as there was not a back up stashed away in my collection. This foundation is gorgeous for all year round as it can be sheer or built to create a higher coverage. It is a gel foundation making it a dream to blend and lasts a long long time. I will definitely be picking another one of these up next time I'm out and about!

So there are my top three highstreet foundations - please let me know your favourites as I'm always on the hunt to try something new! Thanks for reading!

The Repurchase #1 | LUSH Eau Roma Water

This post is going to be a quick review of the Eau Roma Water from LUSH. This is about the third or fourth time I've bought this so thought it deserved a mention. The Eau Roma Water works as a really lovely refreshing toner. I use this every morning and evening after I cleanse and it really helps to clean my skin and remove all of the excess dirt. I love the scent of this product too - it's not too strong and is very fresh with a hint of Lavender. This is one of the best toners I've ever used and I'm definitely going to branch out to more LUSH products. This bottle lasts a really long time as you need about two/three sprays on a cotton pad per use! I cannot recommend it enough and they do a range of other scents too.

Have you ever tried this product or any other toners from LUSH? Thanks for reading!

Autumn Wishlist #2

So here is week two for my Autumn wishlist posts throughout August! Hope you enjoy and comment letting me know if you like the pieces I've chosen.

First up is this gorgeous little black dress from Topshop, I love this dress as it is plain/simple but still oozes elegance and sophistication. I'm fairly tall and find it falls in all the right places, hiding all my lumps and love handles! This dress would look gorgeous with some black wedges or some nude heels. The picture isn't very clear but the top half is embroided with tiny cut out flowers adding texture and exquisite detailing.
This may be a very Zara heavy wishlist but there new season clothes are so gorgeous. I'm in love with this silk striped shirt and feel it can be dressed up with a tube skirt or dressed a bit more casual with black skinny jeans and flats. Either way I think it's a staple shirt which looks like more effort has been made than what actually has. I'm sure the quality is divine and I just love the chic vibe it gives out. Now I need a new winter coat (this may just be my justification) but no - my last winter coat is about 4 years old and has definitely seen better days. As pale/pastel pinks are coming on trend this Autumn I thought no better way then to purchase this cheeky number. I'm not really one for colour but this subtle pink hue shade is not too 'in your face' and is therefore right up my street. I fall even more in love with it each time I see it and I hope one day it will be mine! Vans are something I've wanted for a long time, I love how they can be so practical yet can be paired with cute socks, tights or bare legs and still create a grungey look. I think I would opt for black ones as they would go with most clothes I own and I really think they'd be ideal for uni and walking around a lot. Finally is quite possible my most wanted item on the list. The Zara Office City Bag has been raved about pretty much for the whole of 2013 and I haven't really been too fussed about getting one. However I am hopefully starting uni in September and feel this would be the most perfect and practical bag for me. It has lots of compartments and fits lots in - it's definitely at the top of my wishlist!

So there's my second Autumn wishlist: please comment on any of the pieces you have/like and thankyou for reading!

Empty Products #1

So here is my very first empties post: I will be discussing products I've used up and whether or not I enjoyed using them and if I will repurchase them soon or again in the future!

First up is the new highstreet version of Bioderma, this L'Oreal Micellar Water was hugely popular when it first launched a couple of months ago and I can see why. This is my second bottle of the stuff and I honestly cannot fault it. I've said goodbye to face wipes for good and this makes removing makeup so much easier and gets rid of the majority of dirt and grime. After using cotton pads to remove the bulk of my makeup I just follow with a cleanser and toner but this is definitely a staple in my morning and evening skincare routine and the best thing is that it's so easy to access. I have and will repurchase this product in the future!

The next product is again my second time I've owned this product. The Vo5 Dry Texturising Spray is brilliant for those days when your locks need a bit of oomph. It adds just the right amount of texture and volume and isn't heavily scented either. This product is again inexpensive and I will probably end up repurchasing again at some point in the future.

The La Roche Pose Effaclar Duo is something that has caused much controversy amongst beauty bloggers a few months ago. Some said it was a miracle worker whilst others struggled to see changes. I was a bit of both; some times I would use this and really feel/see a difference with my skin and then other times I wouldn't notice any differences at all. I think for the price of this product I won't be repurchasing it again anytime soon unless my skin does seem very problematic.

Another product I struggled to love was the Garnier Moisture Match Moisturiser for oily skin. My skin isn't particularly oily but I do sometimes get an oily T zone area so thought this may be good to help reduce shine. However I didn't notice many differences and felt the moisturiser itself was too thick and heavy to be a daytime moisturiser. I did use a sample of the one for dull skin and it seemed to agree with my skin much more therefore if it was ever on offer and I fancied giving it another go I'd probably go for the one targeting dull skin.

Finally is something I will definitely repurchase again, the Collection Cream Puff in Fairy Cake. For under a £5 these feel absolutely gorgeous on the lips and are very long lasting. The downside is that they only have about for colours in the range but a couple of them are really beautiful. I was sad when this one ran out as I wear it a lot and will definitely pick up another when I'm next in Boots/Superdrug!

So there's my first Empties post - I hope you enjoyed it and let me know your opinions on any of the products that I've mentioned above! Thanks for reading!

Monthly Favourites | July 2013

A little bit late on the favourites this most but better late than never! July was a pretty hectic month for me aw I was away in China for ten days. I had an amazing time and it was such an experience to see such a difference in culture. I ate lots of proper Chinese food (which tasted way better than the UK Chinese). Now I'm back a monthly favourites post was due to let you know what I've been loving through July.

The first product is this Sweet Lemon Hand Cleanse Gel from The Body Shop. I needed a decent, nice fragrant hand sanitiser for the plane journey and to throw in my rucksack whilst I was in China and this one did the job perfectly. The scent is full of citrus and really feels like your hands are getting a deep clean. I picked this up in the sale for about £2 so it was inexpensive and worked really well. I will definitely be checking out more hand sanitisers from The Body Shop.

Next is a product I picked up in Duty Free whilst waiting for the flight out. I've been eyeing it up for a long time and since I had spending money to spare I picked it up. I've been using the Lumi Magique Base Primer by L'Oreal as a primer mixed in with my foundation to create the ultimate dewy glow finish or just blended it on top of my foundation on the top of my cheek bones as a liquid highlight. Either way I feel this is a gorgeous mulituse product which is perfect for the summertime.

Before the plane I obviously bought a stack of magazines for the ten hour flight (!) to Shanghai. In one of them (I'm really sorry I can't remember which) there was this Nip + Fab freebie. I thought on my travels I would give the Dry Leg Fix a go and I was delighted with the product. Although I'm really not a fan of the scent (which smells a little bit like coco cola penny sweets) I put up with it for the sheer gorgeousness of this leg moisturiser. The product sinks in leaving your legs feeling smooth and supple. I will definitely be trying more products by Nip + Fab and maybe finding a more unscented body moisturiser.

The Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder by Bourjois is something that has been in my collection for ages but I found myself wearing a lot on holiday in China. I think it's a lovely slightly shimmery bronzer which compliments my slightly fair skin - although I have a bit of a tan at the moment it still works for me. I know a lot of people love this and others aren't so keen but for me it works a treat. I am lusting over their relatively new Bronzing Primer though which is quite high up on my beauty wishlist. Finally in my July favourites is a Topshop product which I've barely put down this month.

As it was SO hot in China and for a bit in the UK when I returned home I decided to say a brief goodbye to my usual everyday liquid eyeliner cat flicks and substituted them for a bit of undereye/waterline kohl instead. This Topshop Kohl in Sable is a gorgeous brown eyeliner which glides onto the waterline and just underneath the eye like a dream. It adds such a grungy look and is so quick and easy to apply - if you want minimal effort for those hot summer days then this is worth a try!

So there are my favourites for the month of July - let me know if you've tried any of these products and your thoughts on them! Thanks for reading!

Autumn Wishlist #1

Now I know August has just begun and I'm not wishing the summer at all in any way, I just really miss Autumn and Winter. My favourite season is Autumn as I prefer darker colours and layering up. We've been having strange weather over in England - a couple of weeks ago we had a scorching heatwave and now we're back again to dreary grey rain and big heavy thunderstorms. Anyway, I've decided each week throughout August I'm going to post an autumn/winter wishlist of new on trend items I hope to collect and be part of my wardrobe!

Firstly I've had my eye on this gorgeous statement jumpsuit from Topshop for a while now. At £45 I think it's very reasonably priced and Topshop quality has never yet let me down. I think it's a classic piece which can be worn during the daytime or dressed up for a more sophisticated evening look and I think it's perfect for the Summer/Autumn transition too. Next is probably my favourite out of the lot and the one I will be lusting over the most. This stunning wool coat is from Zara, I love the check/tartan trend and I'm so happy it's coming back for A/W13! At £90 I feel it is a little on the steep side as it's not 100% wool however I am persuading my parents to go halves on this little baby and my mum did describe it as 'a very nice coat' so I think I'm onto a winner. Again Zara quality is faultless so I'm sure this will last me many many winters. A basic tube midi skirt is something I feel I will get a lot of wear out of this Autumn. As I'm quite tall I'm hoping the 'midi' length will suit my body type and teamed with a cropped jumper or t shirt I will try and make it work. This one I've found is from Topshop and has many great reviews so I will probably end up popping it into my basket sometime soon. The next shirt is from good old New Look: at £12.99 I think this is an absolute steal as I personally feel it looks a lot more expensive and could pass of as H&M/Zara/Topshop! I've seen it in store and it's made from a beautiful chiffon material making it light and airy. Again this piece can be dressed up or down making it versatile in the wardrobe. Finally are the most gorgeous wedges ever - these suede beauties are from Topshop and look so comfortable. I'm hoping to start university in September and I feel a pair of decent comfy shoes will keep my pins and feet happy during Freshers week!
So there are my first wishlist items for Autumn, I hope you like them as much as I do and please tell me what you're going to be after this season! Thanks for reading!

All About | The Liebster Award

My post today is a little bit different to the usual review/favourites/products dominated post as I have been nominated for the Liebster Award by the lovely Paige. If you're not already reading Paige's blog then please go over and check it out as she seems a really nice girl and writes really great posts! I will be answering Paige's questions in this post and then will create 11 new questions for 11 of my favourite bloggers! It will be a text heavy post but hopefully you'll find it interesting and find out a little bit more about moi!

Rules of the Liebster Award
1. Give 11 random facts about yourself
2. Answer the 11 questions given to you by the tagger
3. Choose 11 bloggers with 300 followers or under to give the award and link them in your post
4. Create 11 new questions for your chosen bloggers to answer
5. Make sure the chosen bloggers are aware that you have selected them
6. Do not tag the person who tagged you

11 Random Facts:
  • My favourite drink in the whole entire world is a Green Tea Frappuccino which they don't sell in the UK - I've only drunk them in Japan and China.
  • My favourite thing to do is travel - car journeys, trains, planes - I love it all!
  • I find pugs to be the cutest dogs ever.
  • My favourite Harry Potter movie is the Half - Blood Prince.
  • My favourite films are The Little Mermaid and Titanic.
  • I'm hopefully going to be going to University in London in September to study Fashion Buying Management!
  • I have four sisters.
  • The one place I've always wanted to travel to is Italy (particularly Rome, Florence and Venice)
  • I got an A* at Japanese GCSE.
  • I have size 9 feet (boooooooo)
  • My starsign is Taurus!

Now here are Paige's questions for me to answer:

1. What is your favourite beauty product?
Thanks Paige for this really tricky question! In general my favourite beauty product is something that gives me confidence. For this I would say either foundation or a bold lipstick so I choose a bold lip as it's a little bit more exciting. A few of my personal favourites include: MAC Vegas Volt, MAC Morange and Revlon Spiced Brandy!

2. What is the reason for why you started blogging?
I started blogging for a few reasons - I've always enjoyed reading fellow blogs and in depth reviews on products before I buy them. I decided to start my blog to be more involved in the blogging community which is so welcoming and friendly. Here I can express my thoughts and opinions, discuss them with others and get feedback of my own!

3. What is your favourite type of food?
My favourite type of food is probably Italian. I love pizza, pasta, garlic bread etc. The reason why? Because it's so god damn tasty!

4.Smokey Eye or a Bright Lip?
Hands down a bright lip - I'm such a noob when it comes to eye shadows so when I attempt a smokey eye it just looks like I've been punched in the face.

5. What is your favourite season?
My favourite season is Autumn: I love Autumn colours, I love layering up with scarves/coats/jumpers, I love Autumn scents and Autumn evenings! Autumn is just such a beautiful time of the year!

6. Biggest Pet Peeve?
It's not really a pet peeve just something that bugs me and that I cannot do. It's quite odd but I can't stand it when people fill up say a Coca Cola bottle with water or squash or something? I just can't do it! I have to drink from the bottle that the product is, unless I'm filling a water bottle up with tap water - then that's ok.

7. Countryside or in the City?
I've lived in the country all my life but I know that I'm a city girl deep down. I'm hopefully moving to London in September and I just know city life will suit me better and satisfy me much more that the country does! The countryside really does have some breath taking views though - which I will miss!

8. Is the glass half empty or half full?
Half full.

9. Would you rather a night in or a night out?
Definitely a night out!

10. If you could a dinner party with only five people of your choice, who would they be and why?
Leonardo DiCaprio (because he's GORGEOUS), Jude Law (because he's GORGEOUS), Prince Harry (because he's GORGEOUS), Florence Welch (because I love her music and everything about her basically) and Alexa Chung (I admire her style and reckon she'd be cool to hang out with)

11. What is the most exciting thing you've ever done?
Probably my travels, I'm 18 years old and have been fortunate to visit Japan, Russia, China, France and Greece. I love travelling and I guess standing on The Great Wall is pretty exciting!

I tag the following gals to take part in this tag:

Natalie at Thunderlove
Holly at Holly-Rhian
Ellis at Ellis Rose
Tasha at Hello Freckles
Jamie at J4mieJohnston
Leigh at imleighbeauty
Bethany at Bethany Maire
Emily at Beleza by Ems
Hollie at From Eden

My questions for you 11 girls are:

1. What did you want to be when you grew up when you were younger?
2. If you had £1000 to spend on  JUST make up or JUST clothes which would you choose?
3. If you could live in another country to where you do now where would it be and why?
4. Favourite high end and favourite drug store makeup brand.
5. Why did you choose to begin your blog?
6. Coke or Lemonade?
7. If you could see one artist/band live who would it be?
8. Who is your celebrity 'crush'?
9. Would you rather wear lipstick on your eyelids or eye shadows on your lips?!
10. What's your favourite shop to buy clothes and why?
11. What is your ultimate dream job?

So there are my questions to my eleven tagged bloggers: I know these posts are time consuming but if you do respond please let me know as I'd love to read your answers! Thanks for reading!

All About | My Everyday Makeup

So I haven't blogged for ages and this needs to change! I was away in China for a week or so and now I'm back and going to be blogging a lot more throughout August! Here is a little post on makeup that I wear almost everyday and why I love the products so much!

Face: On my face throughout being on holiday and the warm weather we've had in the UK I've really been loving the Dr Jart+ Waterfuse Beauty Balm. This has been perfect as an alternative to foundation during hot weather and the consistency and finish is beautiful. I don't like to cake myself in makeup but I set the Dr Jart with a light dusting of Collection Sheer Loose Powder This is cheap as chips and does the job, teamed with the Real Techniques power brush my skin is set for the day! For concealer I always tend to go for the trusty Collection Ever Lasting Perfection concealer. Need I say more? It's such a high quality concealer and works well both under the eyes and hiding blemishes. Whilst being abroad I applied it with the Real Techniques Deluxe Crease brush as I found it to be more hygienic. Finally for the face I apply a small amount of NARS Blush in Luster for contour/blush. I love this warm apricot shade and feels it compliments my fair skin but looks lovely with a tan too!

Eyes: For eye make up I've been keeping it simple. My new favourite product for my eyes is the MAC Paintpot in Painterly. This is the perfect nude cream eye shadow base which I've been wearing on it's own with lashings of mascara. For mascara I've been constantly using Benefit They're Real as it works well with my short lashes ensuring they are given length and volume. If I'm feeling really crazy I'll apply some winged eyeliner - my all time favourite liquid liner is Collection Extreme Eyeliner, I can't recommend it enough - it's so black and pigmented and is about £2.99?!

Lips: Finally for the finishing products on my lips. I've been switching it up between two MAC lipsticks. I tend to sway towards MAC Vegas Volt if I'm feeling a bolder lip. The consistency is gorgeous and it lasts a long long time. If I'm wanting something a little less 'in your face' I'll go for MAC Hue which again has a lovely formula and is the perfect pink nude for my skin tone!

So there are some of my favourite products for my everyday make up. Please let me know if you like any of these products and thanks for reading!

Monthly Favourites | June 2013

Tresemmé Heat Defence Spray / Jergens Skin Firming Moisturiser / MAC Paint Pot (painterly)

Revlon Lipgloss (kiss me coral) / NARS Blush (Luster)

So as it's the start of July a monthly favourites post is due! June was a crazy month for me as I had my final A2 exams and I went on holiday with my three best friends to Malia in Greece! I had the best time and I'm now off to China next week which is also exciting. Here's some of the products I've been loving here in the UK and whilst I was away. Firstly I've been loving this heat defence spray by Tresemmé this month - I bought the travel size for my holidays and will definitely be buying the full size when it runs out. It's not too expensive and you know your hair is being fully protected by any heat or electric appliances! Next is a moisturiser I've not put down all month. This isn't the first time I've had this Jergens Skin Firming moisturiser so it is a repurchase and this month I rediscovered how much I love it. It claims to firm the skin and tone the skin which I actually think it helps to do. It has no strong scent which is good and is just a staple product in my post shower routines. The MAC paint pot in Painterly is something I've been wanting for ages and at the start of June I finally got my hands on it. I love it to pieces and have used it (literally) every day since I bought it. It's fantastic for an under shadow base or just to use on it's own. I found in Greece I just wore this and some liquid liner in the evenings as it was too warm to be blending shadows and creating smokey eyes. I've never been one for lip glosses but as I was going to a hot country I decided to pick up a few as I felt they would be handy. I'm so glad I did and have worn this Revlon one in the shade Kiss Me Coral a lot this month. The consistency is lovely and there is a gorgeous colour pay off too. Finally this month is a blush which I've loved for ages but have only recently been religiously wearing. NARS Luster is my only blush from NARS and I simply adore it. I feel it looks better when I have a slight tan but really compliments my skin tone and hair colour. I've been wearing it pretty much everyday and couldn't recommend it enough!

So there are my favourite products from the month of June! Please leave me your links if you've done a June favourites post and let me know your thoughts on any of the products I've mentioned. Thanks for reading!
